Las Vegas, Nevada | August 2021
Las Vegas:
Weather:
High 80's. Need to wear sunscreen!
Transportation:
We rented a car. We did need to pay for parking when walking down the Strip.
Accomodations:
Sunrise Inn - We weren't 21 yet, (I know, waste of a trip to Vegas!!) so we couldn't stay at any casino resort. Our Airbnb was an epic fail. We booked a room in a cozy home, but apparently, the hostess and creepy boyfriend were home with us. We quickly feigned an emergency and left. It was $132/night after taxes and all hidden fees.
Kosher Food:
Ariella's - Pizza shop with delicious mozaralla sticks.
Hummus Vegas - I haven't been there, but a local recommended it. To quote her, she said, "It's a hole in the wall small place near the strip with the best Schwarma."
Jerusalem Grill - Also, never been there, but to quote our local friend, "It's a great sit down restaurant."
Burnt Offerings - "Great, too." -ibid.
Cafe Express - "Amazing, but some items are Chalav Stam." - ibid.
Attractions:
The Strip - Duh. What else is Vegas known for??
The Big Apple Coaster - The famous rollercoaster near the Statue of Liberty replica at the New York-New York Hotel. When you wait on line in the hotel, there are a bunch of arcades there as well.
Ziplining - Fly LINQ Zipline, in the LINQ Hotel. We didn't end up going ziplining because there was some "maintenance needed"... Sounds sketchy.
Paris Las Vegas Hotel - Super cool Eiffel Tower replica. Check out the ceiling inside the casino.
The Cosmopolitan Hotel - Extravagent, opulent hotel. Luxury shops inside. Beautiful place to window shop.
Hoover Dam - This was a bit of a drive out of the city, but well worth it. The dam is pretty boring to look at, but the bridge nearby was so pretty against the water backdrop!
Area 15 - Fun indoor activities. We drove past and it looked super cool.
Green Valley Resort and Spa - A women's spa in Henderson with a little shopping center. Didn't go, but heard it's nice!
